This delicate and refined medallion, seeks its inspiration from both a manufacturing technique and an early 17th century Indian design. Its pattern shows links to the early cloths from the Coromandel Coast that graced the interiors of the elite for several centuries. Combined with the refined 18th century hand-block print technique of picotage, where small dots make the outline of the pattern.
