Visual performance takes the lead in this show stopping collection of premium archive wallpapers for the new season.
For Autumn 2024, Warner House champions ‘conversation-starting’ wallpapers. Known for its prestige archive, the Royal-Warrant fabric and furnishing house introduces a new set of papers that epitomise the current thinking for bold and adventurous interior design.
‘The latest introductions to our library of wallpapers are all about talking points,’ says Lee Clarke, owner and director of Warner House. ‘From tack room sophistication to otherworldly oceanscapes and from sumptuous trompe l’oeil to the revival of the pillar print, these five papers express the passions and pastimes of our customers and clients.’
For a full-scale interior design project or a small scale refresh, these papers will transport you with their artistic innovation and ingenuity.
Let us introduce you...
For Pony Clubbers, old and young, the delightful Dressage wallpaper features rows of graceful horses. Dressed in artisanal saddle blankets and obediently trotting in rhythmic paths left and right, this paper brings relaxed horizontal movement to a space. In three colourways – Eggshell, Pink and Stone, this is an equestrian-style paper with a country house vibe.
Hang Dressage Stone in coat rooms, utility areas and restrooms in country properties where the owners love the high-low life. Or use as a hero wallpaper in a laid-back luxe bathroom (shown) or horse-mad kid’s room. Don’t be afraid to combine with other patterns in complementary colours, such as Bibi Spice. And most definitely use a pure linen plain to upholster occasional furniture, such as Campbell Artichoke, as a counterpoint.
Tack wallpaper is a flowing depiction of bridle, bit and stirrup with sartorial appeal. This is ‘stable chic’ at its best, thanks to its fashion-conscious edge. With its floating leather reins, tassels and brass belts, Tack comes in two clever colourways, polo match Navy for a slick and polished look or earthy Stone for something a little more modern rustic.
This is a wallpaper suited to country casual settings. Interior designers love a dark background for creating atmosphere in a small or dark space, so choose Tack Navy for a hallway, study or library, or to accent an alcove. Accessorise with woven wools, corduroys and pure linens, for a look that’s all about the Eventing life.
Poetic interiors that speak to a world of ethereality and ecstasy are hot gossip right now, thanks to 2024’s otherworldly films like Yorgos Lanthimos’s Poor Things. Grand Coralli wallpaper depicts sensual and delicate coral and sea shells in soft ocean colours. A hand painted archive pattern of French origin, it dates from around 1860 and dances with charm and panache.
Four colourways of Aqua, Blush, Ivory and Noir allow you to play with atmospheric effects. These palettes feel at home in super-feminine spaces such as bedrooms, dressing rooms and ensuite bathrooms where you can indulge in whimsy and romance. Opt for walls covered in Grand Coralli Aqua that will sit happily alongside a glazed cotton, such as Starlight Blush and a pink paint like Victoria for magical and shimmering indulgence.
‘Pillar prints’ are back in vogue thanks to the current euphoria for architectural columns in room set design. Rosalia wallpaper is an historical document, originally designed in the 18th century, of fluted pillars with ornamented capitals resplendent with bounteous floral garlands. This ‘columnar print’ gives the appearance of a large-scale stripe that instantly plays with vertical dynamics to give expanses of wall interest and an illusion of height.
Unashamedly frou-frou, this design comes in a symphony of seven colourways from the cool neutral grounds of Delft, Raspberry, Rouge (shown} and Antique to the warmer Aqua, Blush and Spice backdrops. Use it in living and garden rooms, formal dining rooms or spaces crying out for period or interesting features. You’ll be transfixed by its impact. Accessorise with small scale prints (Leaf Trail is perfect) and damasks (Versailles) that will complement this highly decorative wallpaper.
Let pillow talk be your muse. Depicting elegant silk upholstery, Tassels wallpaper is a sumptuous trompe l’oeil. A diamond design with a lustrous effect of fancy braids, trims and Chinese knots, this trick-of-the-eye look comes in seven glamorous colours – Blue, Blush, Gold, Green, Teal, Taupe and Natural.
It’s the perfect paper for ‘retreat rooms’ – a bedroom, private study or movie room – where relaxing and cocooning is the order of the day. Use Tassels Taupe (shown) alongside the large scale fabric Flora Ochre and small scale Leaf Trail Ochre for a sublime neutral scheme packed with personality. Consider Tassels as a panel paper too, on wardrobe doors or as a lining for shelves painted with one of Warner House’s historic and complimentary paints.
Delving as far back as the 15th century and as far reaching as England to Asia, the Warner House collection is an exploration of beautiful, bold and adventurous design that stands the test of time, curated and reinterpreted for the modern decorator.
