Christmas is all about giving and this festive season Warner House is delighted to present a unique partnership with the renowned British fragrance brand, Jo Loves.
"Centered around the personal traditions and storytelling that are so synonymous with the festive season, Jo Loves has selected two iconic Warner House designs from our archive that truly embody the magic of Christmas," says Lee Clarke, founder of Warner House.
Knotted Sash and Starlight are beautifully reconceived exclusively for Jo Loves and recoloured in the brand’s signature red. Knotted Sash is a ritzy trompe-l'oeil ribbon that originally came from the Parisian manufacturer Andre Brault, who sold his blocks and designs to Warner in 1938. Starlight is a dashing 17th century piece featuring a dapper gold star.
Each of these high-class designs wrap the limited editions in timeless elegance from the coveted advent calendar to the renowned candles, featuring scents such as Christmas Trees, Plum Pudding, Snowflakes and Gingerbread.
We sat down with Jo Malone, owner of Jo Loves, to talk about her affection for Christmas and why Warner House makes the perfect alliance.
Tell us what the festivities mean to you
"Christmas is all about traditions - the past, present and future. From dressing the tree to making my delicious gingerbread iced cookies and lighting candles during Christmas Eve, it's my absolute favourite time of the year."
Why did you choose to collaborate with Warner House?
“This year at Jo Loves we partnered with Warner House to translate my favourite festive traditions into beautifully designed packaging that remind me so much of these special moments. Warner House is all about traditions and nostalgia; it’s one of the Great British textile houses. I am thrilled that we took both our brands’ creativity to create a third identity.”
What's the shared ethos?
“Well, both brands create beautiful things. I love beautiful things. Warner House has an incredible power of storytelling through textiles. These things connect us as brands."
Tell us about your Christmas traditions
“As a family, we love Christmas – the run up to it, Christmas Day and afterwards. One of the things we enjoy about Christmas Eve is putting our whole house into candlelight from midday onwards. There’s also nothing more wonderful than the tree set with gifts. I love ribbons and enjoy tying them around presents so that they look beautiful. Then there’s lighting the log fire and looking up to see all the stars in the sky – it’s magical.”
Why did you choose Knotted Sash and Starlight as the motifs for this collection?
“Ribbons and stars are our themes for this year. When we saw Knotted Sash, myself and my whole team felt quite emotional. The red ribbon of Jo Loves is such a symbolic part of our brand so Warner House’s Knotted Sash felt like a synergy that we could share together.
“Why Starlight? My star necklace is one of my most treasured possessions; one of my most loved things. I wear it anywhere and everywhere. My star is one of the most important parts of my identity and personality. So when I saw the beautiful Starlight design I knew it would work… and in the two different colourways – white and red.”
Why is fragrance so important at this time?
"Think of a crispy log fire, a beautiful tree, a plum pudding. These are all the smells that I remember from Christmases gone by and we can use fragrance to bring those memories back to life in a new language. Just like music and food, fragrance really has the power to take you into that moment.”
What’s your favourite scent?
"Our Christmas Trees candle is the product everyone loves. Here’s the story of how it came about... We always have a real Christmas tree (we buy it from the same guy every year). We bring it home, have a glass of wine and something delicious to eat and play carols. We decorate the tree with pieces that we have had for years that are full of memories; reliving the stories of where they came from. I love to come down in the morning to the smell of fresh pine.”
“I hope you love the Christmas collection as much as I enjoyed creating it.” says Jo Malone.
